Word Camp 2012 was my first experience with this awesome giant. If you are
involved with web designing and your not using Word Press, you are
working the hard way. I was always told and totally believe it that you
can either work harder or smarter. Word Press is the smarter way.
Getting lost in Atlanta isn’t fun, but once we got there the excitement soothed our souls. For those that have no idea what Word Press or Word Camp is, I will try to explain some basics.
Word Press is a platform that you use to create websites. It is a software program that runs with Themes. You have the ability to customize the Themes to your preference, while keeping the ground work in place. For beginners it is great because there is no coding involved. Now once you get a bit advanced you might want to tackle that beast, because within the Word Press community you can always find help.
Word Camp is an intense 2 day event for everyone from just getting their feet wet with Word Press to the most experienced and well established designers. They offered breakout sessions that everyone could relate with. From best practices and tools, all about themes, writing effective blogs, themes basics and how to monetize your site, seo tips…these are just a few.
So check out our video that highlights a minimal amount of time spent there, really there is just to much to write about.
The fact is that in any business, to stay on top and offer your customers the best experience possible, we have to invest in ourselves. This was one of those weekends for me, that you can’t put a price tag on. Happy Watching….
